DONATE TODAY TO PROTECT YOUR RIGHTS

Public access and opportunity to salmon on the British Columbia coast is currently being threatened by proposed changes to the Salmon Allocation Policy (SAP).

What’s at stake is well beyond recreational fishing – the outcome could significantly impact the rights of all Canadians and the ability to use, access, and benefit from common property resources.

Working together, the BC Wildlife Federation (BCWF) and the Sport Fishing Institute (SFI) may need to act to defend the public’s right to fish– by explaining what is at risk, why it matters, and through legal action if necessary.

Your donation will help to ensure this work and action can happen.

All donations will be held in trust by the BCWF and, in coordination and agreement with the SFI, used as required to respond to impacts or risks from a revised SAP or other threats to common property access rights.

This is a critical moment.

By donating today, you will help protect fair access to salmon and public access to common property resources, while supporting an activity that delivers significant social, cultural, and economic benefits for Canadians now and for generations to come.

The Sport Fishing Institute of BC

Since 1980 the Sport Fishing Institute of BC (SFI) has represented the interests of over 350,000 tidal water recreational anglers and related businesses to elected officials, management agency staff, other fishery sectors, and the non-angling pubic. We work to raise issues of critical importance to BC’s sport fishing industry with decision makers in Municipal, Provincial, Federal, and First Nations governments in Canada.
